You applied, they never replied. What do you do next?

Ghosting after an application is the most common complaint we hear, and most advice about it is useless because it assumes you have leverage you do not have. A few things that seem to work: - Follow up once, after about a week, in the same thread. Not a new email. - Make the follow-up carry new information: something you have shipped, read, or noticed about their product. Never just "checking in". - Then let it go. A second follow-up rarely changes anything and costs you the next opportunity with the same company. What has actually worked for you? Has a follow-up ever turned a silence into an interview?
