About the Role
CI&T is looking for a Senior Data Steward to join our Data Governance team and help drive data quality, ownership, and usability across the organization.
This professional will play a key role in establishing and maintaining governance processes, managing metadata, supporting data quality initiatives, and acting as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure data is properly documented, trusted, and aligned with governance standards.
Responsibilities
Manage metadata requests and maintain data documentation and catalog information.
Act as a business and governance analyst for data-related initiatives.
Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to define and document data ownership and accountability.
Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
Identify data issues and coordinate resolution through the appropriate governance processes.
Profile datasets and create basic data quality checks and controls.
Support data-related requests and promote data usability and trust across the organization.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve data governance processes and standards.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Data Management roles.
Strong understanding of:Data Governance frameworks and practices
Metadata management
Data Quality principles and controls
Data ownership and data lifecycle management
Data contracts and governance policies
Familiarity with Data Engineering concepts, including data ingestion processes and ETL/ELT.
Experience or familiarity with Databricks environments.
Understanding of programming logic and basic knowledge of Python.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced English (C1 or above), with excellent verbal and written communication skills ( mandatory )
