About the role

The client is a well-established culinary school offering public cooking and baking classes, corporate team-building events, and venue rentals. They are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer who can create polished, on-brand visuals while also supporting customer service and light administrative tasks.
This role is ideal for someone who is strong in Canva and graphic design, has a good eye for branding, and can produce clean visuals for newsletters, social media, class promotions, event materials, and other marketing needs. The client already has branding guidelines, templates, Loom videos, SOPs, and workflows in place, so the ideal candidate should be able to follow instructions carefully, stay organized, and work with minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create clean, polished, and on-brand graphics for social media, newsletters, promotions, events, and class materials.
Design marketing assets using Canva and existing brand templates.
Help update promotional materials, class announcements, event graphics, and other branded content.
Support email marketing by preparing newsletter visuals, layouts, and content based on existing templates.
Assist with social media content, including visuals, captions, basic scheduling, and brand consistency.
Follow branding guidelines, SOPs, Loom videos, templates, and existing workflows accurately.
Manage the general inbox and respond to customer inquiries in a friendly and professional way when needed.
Handle class-related customer requests such as schedule changes, cancellations, refunds, and general questions.
Use Shopify to review orders, support refund requests, update customer information, and manage class-related details.
Support light administrative projects as needed.
Ask clear questions when unsure and communicate proactively about task status, blockers, or needed clarification.
Requirements
Strong graphic design skills, especially using Canva.
Able to create polished, clean, and brand-aligned designs for social media, email campaigns, promotions, and marketing materials.
Strong eye for layout, branding, spacing, fonts, colors, and visual consistency.
Experience creating graphics for social media, newsletters, events, or small business marketing.
Experience with customer support, virtual assistance, executive assistance, or administrative support is a plus.
Comfortable managing inboxes and responding to customer inquiries when needed.
Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms is preferred.
Familiarity with email marketing, newsletters, and social media support.
Strong written communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
Good judgment when handling branded content, customer concerns, refunds, cancellations, and schedule changes.
Proactive, reliable, and comfortable asking questions when something is unclear.
Able to follow SOPs, Loom videos, templates, and existing workflows with minimal supervision.
