Get to Know Us
At Darwoft, we create software that drives real change. But we're more than just tech — we're people first. We believe in building human-centered digital experiences and having fun while we do it.
Our team is curious, passionate, and always growing. Based in Latin America, we partner with companies worldwide to develop innovative solutions with purpose.
We work remotely, collaboratively, and with a strong sense of community — always embracing continuous learning, adaptability, and real impact.
About the Role
We're looking for a Principal Engineer / Technical Lead to join a long-term project for a U.S.-based technology company building a secure digital payments platform for the healthcare and senior living industry.
This is not a traditional senior developer role. We're looking for a highly experienced technical leader who can provide architectural guidance, strengthen engineering practices, support cloud migration decisions, and help consolidate a secure software development lifecycle in a regulated environment.
The platform enables digital payment experiences for healthcare-related organizations and their users, supporting secure transactions, payment workflows, account visibility, and operational efficiency. Given the nature of the product, security, compliance, reliability, and architectural maturity are key aspects of the role.
You'll work closely with engineering teams and client stakeholders, helping validate technical decisions, identify risks, propose improvements, and guide the evolution of a production-grade platform built mainly with .NET / C#, Azure, and cloud-native architecture.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide technical leadership across product, architecture, development practices, and cloud infrastructure decisions.
Act as a trusted technical advisor for both internal teams and client stakeholders.
Review and validate architectural decisions, identifying risks, trade-offs, and improvement opportunities.
Guide the evolution of a production-grade platform built with modern .NET / C#.
Support and validate the ongoing migration and optimization of the platform in Microsoft Azure.
Help strengthen and consolidate a Secure Software Development Lifecycle — Secure SDLC.
Define, review, and promote secure engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
Collaborate on security controls, code quality standards, deployment practices, and cloud governance.
Identify technical debt and propose pragmatic, scalable remediation strategies.
Review infrastructure, deployment models, and cloud configurations from a security and scalability perspective.
Support teams in building reliable, maintainable, and compliant software for a regulated payments environment.
Participate in technical discussions with client-facing stakeholders, explaining decisions clearly and defending architectural recommendations.
Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team.
Contribute to long-term platform stability, security, performance, and maintainability.
What You Bring
Strong experience as a Principal Engineer, Software Architect, Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, or similar senior technical leadership role.
Deep hands-on experience with .NET / C# in modern, production-grade environments.
Strong background designing and evolving cloud-native architectures.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture, security, deployment, and infrastructure best practices.
Proven experience supporting or leading cloud migration initiatives.
Strong understanding of software security principles, secure coding practices, and application security risks.
Experience implementing or improving Secure SDLC practices.
Experience working in regulated environments involving compliance, audits, controls, or security standards.
Familiarity with PCI DSS, payment platforms, fintech, healthcare technology, or other sensitive-data environments.
Ability to review technical decisions, detect risks, and propose improvements with business and product context.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to interact directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
Strong technical judgment: able to balance security, scalability, delivery speed, maintainability, and cost.
Ability to lead without relying only on authority: influence, explain, align, and guide teams effectively.
Nice to Have
Experience with PCI DSS Level 1 environments or payment processing platforms.
Experience with HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
Background in fintech, healthtech, healthcare payments, senior living technology, or regulated SaaS platforms.
Experience designing security controls around authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
Knowledge of Azure security tools and services such as Microsoft Entra ID, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Application Gateway, WAF, Monitor, and Log Analytics.
Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD security gates, automated testing, vulnerability management, and infrastructure as code.
Previous experience mentoring senior engineers or helping technical teams mature their engineering practices.
