About the role

About this Role
We're looking for a Performance Director (Paid Media) to lead paid media strategy and execution across Valerie's portfolio of ecommerce brands. You'll own the overall media budget, performance strategy, and buying team across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, and emerging acquisition channels, ensuring every dollar spent contributes to profitable growth.
You'll work closely with Creative, Analytics, Product, AI, Finance, and Brand teams to continuously improve acquisition performance through experimentation, better decision-making, and world-class execution. Success in this role isn't measured by how many campaigns are launched or reports are shared; it's measured by how consistently our brands scale profitably, how quickly winning ideas are identified, and how effectively the team turns performance insights into business growth.
You could be a great fit if...

You naturally balance strategic leadership with being hands-on in ad accounts when the business needs it.

You enjoy making commercial decisions backed by data, balancing growth, profitability, and long-term brand success.

You know how Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, and other acquisition channels work together to build a scalable growth engine.

You thrive in fast-moving environments where testing, learning, and adapting happen every day.

You enjoy building high-performing teams, coaching buyers, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

You proactively identify opportunities, spot performance risks early, and solve problems before they become blockers.

You can confidently communicate complex performance insights to founders and leadership in a simple, actionable way.

You enjoy building systems, frameworks, and processes that help multiple brands grow faster rather than simply managing campaigns.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in performance marketing, including at least 4 years leading or managing paid media teams.

Strong experience managing large paid media budgets across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, or other ecommerce acquisition channels.

Deep understanding of Google Ads, including Search, Shopping, Performance Max, and YouTube.

Experience working with TikTok Ads and performance-driven creative strategies.

Strong understanding of ecommerce growth metrics including ROAS, CAC, MER, LTV, contribution margin, and profitability.

Experience with attribution, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Conversion API, server-side tracking, and measurement frameworks.

Proven experience scaling ecommerce or DTC brands through structured experimentation and performance marketing.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Comfortable working closely with Creative, Analytics, Product, AI, Finance, and Brand teams.

Ability to lead both strategically and operationally, making high-level decisions while remaining close to campaign performance.

Bonus Points

Experience scaling multiple ecommerce brands across different international markets.

Experience with Amazon Ads or marketplace advertising.

Experience building experimentation frameworks across creative, landing pages, bidding strategies, and audience testing.

Familiarity with Looker Studio, automation workflows, AI-driven optimisation, or advanced reporting systems.

Experience working within founder-led startups or high-growth businesses.

Experience building playbooks and operating systems that improve performance across multiple teams.

You probably shouldn't apply if...

You prefer managing people without staying close to campaign performance and data.

You see paid media as campaign execution rather than a commercial growth function.

You rely on others to identify problems instead of proactively finding opportunities and risks.

You're uncomfortable making decisions based on experimentation, testing, and changing priorities.

You prefer highly structured environments where growth strategies rarely evolve.

You're uncomfortable owning business outcomes, advertising budgets, and team performance simultaneously.
