About the role

About us

Sourcevise helps companies find the right suppliers and build supply chains that hold up under pressure. We pair a modern, AI-powered sourcing tool with real procurement expertise, and give our customers exactly what matters: evaluations they can rely on, savings they can measure, and genuine resilience when markets shift.

We're not starting from scratch, though. Sourcevise is a brand of IIC International AG, a company with more than 30 years of experience in international sourcing. That means you get all the speed and energy of a startup, with the stability of an stablished business with tons of experience underneath it.

Tasks

Your mission

Our sourcing tool already exists and gets used every day, right now the focus is on shipping new features fast and reliably. The technical core of our product isn't training our own models, it's applied AI engineering: putting language models to work through prompting, tool-calling, and RAG. As a Junior Product Engineer, you'll grow into both, solid product engineering across our TypeScript stack and working with AI building blocks, with support from the existing team.

Your responsibilities

Build new features: you take end-to-end features across our whole TypeScript stack from idea all the way to a live rollout.

Push our AI features forward: you work on the core features built on language models, like supplier matching or data extraction, through prompting, tool-calling, and RAG rather than training your own models.

Make what's already there more solid: you work on the performance, reliability, and usability of the core features our sourcing team relies on every day.

Work closely with the sourcing team: you get how the tool is actually used day to day, and you turn that into sound technical decisions.

Keep quality high: you test, review, and evaluate carefully, so bugs and unreliable AI outputs don't end up in front of our customers.

Requirements

What you bring

Some early experience as a software engineer, e.g. through internships, a working student role, or your first year or two on the job, with a modern TypeScript stack.

Practical experience with prompt engineering and putting language models to work. Some early exposure to tool-calling or RAG is a plus, not a requirement.

A good instinct for data modeling and an eagerness to pick up modern backend tooling.

Pragmatism and a willingness to learn for a small team: you want to ship end-to-end features and grow into the full stack step by step.

Fluent German or good English.

Benefits

What we offer

Room to shape things: you work on a product that's already live, and you have real influence over where it goes next.

Startup meets substance: short decision paths and a modern culture, backed by more than 30 years of experience and stability from IIC International AG.

Workplace: your call. Work from our office in Freiburg or Munich, close to the team, or go fully remote with real flexibility either way.

Money: a competitive salary that grows fast as you take on more responsibility.

Development: a learning budget and regular access to people worth learning from, through Lunch & Learns, peer mentoring, and outside speakers.

Benefits: Hansefit for fitness and wellness, and Jobrad for bike leasing.
