KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for residential building projects
Review architectural plans, drawings, specifications, and client selections to support estimating activities
Estimate materials, labor, fixtures, finishes, and subcontractor/trade requirements
Manage and maintain project information within Buildertrend
Assist with ordering materials, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating procurement activities
Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules
Track project costs against budgets and assist in monitoring project expenditure
Identify pricing discrepancies, missing information, cost overruns, and potential project risks
Support the team with variations, cost updates, reporting, and general project administration
Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and estimating data
Requirements
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in estimating, quantity take-offs, procurement, or residential construction support roles
Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and trade sequencing
Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Experience preparing BOQs and project cost estimates with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Buildertrend, Microsoft Excel, and other construction/project management tools
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Experience with procurement, supplier coordination, and purchase order processing is highly regarded
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred
Knowledge of Australian residential construction standards and terminology is advantageous
