Harbor Compliance is a leading technology platform for entity compliance, helping more than 80,000 businesses and nonprofits manage licensing, tax registration, and legal entity requirements nationwide. Founded in 2012 and recognized repeatedly by the Inc. 5000 and Deloitte Technology Fast 500, we've grown through five strategic acquisitions โ€” and are now backed by a 2026 majority growth investment from Bregal Sagemount to accelerate product, AI, and customer experience. We're a passionate team making compliance simpler and smarter for every organization we serve.

The Business Development Representative is a critical driver of Harbor Compliance's growth, responsible for identifying and qualifying high-potential opportunities within our target markets. This role is designed for a results-oriented professional who excels at engaging decision-makers and articulating the value of complex compliance solutions to secure meaningful discovery meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and build target account lists within Harbor Compliance's ideal customer profile to fuel a consistent, self-sourced pipeline.

Consistently achieve and exceed monthly targets for Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and discovery meetings scheduled.

Maintain a deep understanding of Harbor Compliance's product suite and service offerings to effectively communicate value propositions tailored to prospect needs.

Document all sales activities and lead intelligence accurately within the CRM to ensure data integrity and effective pipeline management.

Collaborate with marketing and sales leadership to refine messaging and optimize prospecting sequences for maximum conversion.

Conduct initial discovery conversations to assess business challenges and confirm alignment with our compliance solutions.

Prioritize and organize daily workflows to ensure consistent follow-up and movement of self-sourced prospects through the early stages of the sales cycle.

Requirements:

Proven track record of success in an outbound sales or lead generation role, preferably within the SaaS or professional services industry.

Demonstrated ability to engage senior-level decision-makers and navigate complex organizational structures.

High level of proficiency with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, and sales engagement tools like Salesloft or Outreach.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into clear, persuasive messaging.

Strong self-motivation and a disciplined approach to hitting high-activity metrics on a daily basis.

Ability to handle objections professionally while maintaining a persistent, solution-oriented mindset.

Skills and Knowledge:

Familiarity with the regulatory compliance landscape or legal services industry.

Mastery of modern prospecting techniques, including multi-channel sequence management.

Strong analytical skills to evaluate territory performance and identify areas for strategic improvement.

Accommodations:

Harbor Compliance is committed to providing any reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities within our application and interview process. To request an accommodation due to a disability, please inform your recruiter.
