About the role

Partnership Development Lead CaaS, DACH

Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS)

Location: Germany (scope: Germany, Switzerland, Austria)

About ABB E-mobility

ABB E-mobility is a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and services, delivering high-performance charging solutions to customers across Europe, North America and beyond.

Within ABB E-mobility, we are building a new business line focused on an end-to-end managed offering that brings together hardware, software and operational excellence into a unified service model. In this role you own how that offering reaches the market in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

About Charging-as-a-Service

Through our Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) business, we are moving up the stack beyond hardware to enable large enterprises to own and operate branded EV fast charging networks without the hassle.

CaaS is not a traditional CPO model.

We provide supermarket and discount chains, fuel and convenience retailers, QSR brands and large landowners with a fully integrated, white-label platform that combines:

ABB’s industry-leading DC charging hardware

Asset management with contractual uptime guarantees

End-to-end business operations

Frontend driver services

Our partners retain control of their brand, pricing and customer relationship while we handle the technical and operational complexity.

Our ambition in DACH is to make CaaS the preferred charging platform partner for enterprise portfolios across Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Role summary

The Partnership Development Lead, DACH owns CaaS revenue and order intake in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. You own the pipeline, the number and the partner relationships behind it.

This is a founding commercial role. You will be our first CaaS hire in the region, taking the business from the first deals and conversations to a portfolio of multi-site partners across three countries. You personally hunt, close and lead the enterprise partnerships that define our position in the market.

You will report to the Global Head of Charging-as-a-Service and work day to day with our European operations, strategy and product teams. Your job is to win the partners that put CaaS on the map in your region.

Key responsibilities

Own the CaaS revenue and order intake target for DACH and the account plan to deliver it

Build and own the pipeline of multi-site portfolio opportunities across supermarket and discount chains, fuel and convenience retailers, QSR operators, hotel chains, retail park owners and large landowners in Germany, Switzerland and Austria

Lead engagement with the priority enterprise accounts in the region at board and C-suite level, from first conversation to signed contract

Structure and negotiate long-term CaaS agreements together with our central teams

Build a partnership ecosystem across site design, engineering, civil works, electrical installation so projects get delivered on time

Represent ABB E-mobility and CaaS at industry events in the region

Stay the commercial owner of signed partners as our operations team takes over delivery and day-to-day service

Bring DACH market and regulatory requirements into the CaaS product and technology roadmap

Ideal candidate profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys winning new business and building something from the ground up. You likely bring:

7+ years in consulting or business development

Expertise selling technical products or solutions to enterprise customers

Owner mentality. Hands-on and self-starting, willing to roll up the sleeves to get a result

Comfort operating with high autonomy inside a global corporation, and the judgment to know when to draw on the ABB organization and when to move independently

Fluent German and English

Familiarity with EV infrastructure, charging networks or grid connection processes in the region is a plus

How we operate

High velocity. We are a new business line inside ABB E-mobility with the mandate to decide closer to the customer and move faster than a corporate function can.

Full-stack ownership. We sell hardware, software, operations and driver experience as one product. Everyone here understands the whole stack.

Impact over hierarchy. Small team, wide scope. No task is above or beneath anyone.

Backed by ABB. Global hardware, an industrial balance sheet and the credibility that opens enterprise doors.
