About the role

About UniUni
UniUni is a late-stage last-mile logistics company moving millions of parcels across the United States and Canada for some of the largest e-commerce platforms in North America. Our technology is cloud-native on AWS, our corporate stack runs predominantly on Microsoft, and we hold an active ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type II attestation. This role reports to the Head of Platform and is based in North America (remote with periodic travel to UniUni hubs).
About the role
We are hiring an IT Manager to own corporate IT forUniUni'sNorth America corporate users. You will run our Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environment, manage endpoints through Intune, govern SaaS access, lead the help desk, and be the single accountable owner for the technology our employees use to do their jobs.
This is a hands-on management role. You will lead a small team of 1 to 3 IT analysts and administrators, and you will also be in the queue. You will close tickets, build and ship laptops, configure Intune policies, and write runbooks alongside the people you manage. We are not looking for a manager who has stepped away from the keyboard. In scope: corporate users in North America, their devices, their identities, and the SaaS they use.
What you'll do
Identity, Devices, and Endpoints
Own UniUni's Entra ID tenant: user lifecycle, group strategy, conditional access policies, MFA enforcement, and privileged access controls.
Manage the corporate device fleet through Intune, including enrollment, configuration baselines, compliance policies, OS patching, and application deployment for both Windows and macOS.
Operate Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across the corporate fleet, including alert triage, response coordination, and continuous improvement of detection coverage.
Run a tight, well-documented joiner-mover-leaver process across identity, devices, and SaaS in partnership with HR and security.
Microsoft 365 and Productivity
Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, and continuously raise the bar on security and governance posture (anti-phishing, DLP, sharing controls, data retention).
Drive sensible adoption of Microsoft 365 capabilities across the company, including secure use of Copilot and other AI features as we roll them out.
Maintain backup, recovery, and retention configurations for corporate data and validate that they actually work.
SaaS, Procurement, and Access
Own the corporate SaaS portfolio: inventory, ownership mapping, license management, renewals, and consolidation of redundant tools.
Govern SaaS access end to end, including SSO enforcement, MFA, role-based access, and periodic access reviews.
Lead IT procurement: requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, contract review in partnership with legal and security, and onboarding new tools cleanly.
Reduce shadow IT through clear paths to sanctioned tools, fast turnaround on legitimate requests, and visibility into what is actually in use.
Help Desk and Operations
Run the IT help desk: SLAs, ticket queues, on-call coverage, knowledge base, and a service catalog that employees actually use.
Stay personally in the queue. Handle escalations, run complex troubleshooting, and keep direct contact with what UniUni employees experience day to day.
Own laptop logistics end to end: procurement, imaging, shipping, returns, and a clean asset inventory.
Lead onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective. New hires should be productive on day one and former employees should lose access at the right time, every time.
Partnership and Compliance
Partner closely with the Information Security Officer on identity, endpoint security, SaaS access governance, and incident response.
Contribute to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II evidence, control operation, and audit readiness for the IT controls you own.
Lead and develop a small team of IT analysts and administrators. Set standards, hold the bar, and grow the people who report to you.
Be the IT voice in cross-functional decisions where it matters: vendor selection, M&A integration, office moves, and major operational changes.
Qualifications
10+ in corporate IT, with at least 5 years in a hands-on team lead or manager role at a company with 200 or more employees.
Deep, hands-on operational experience across the Microsoft stack: Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365, and Defender.
Comfortable managing both Windows and macOS at fleet scale through MDM.
Strong identity and access fundamentals: SSO (SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect), MFA, conditional access, RBAC, and privileged access.
Track record of running a help desk that employees actually like, with clear SLAs and tight feedback loops.
Experience operating in a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 environment, including producing IT evidence and supporting audits.
Comfortable with light scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) to eliminate repetitive work.
Genuinely service-minded. You measure yourself by how well your colleagues can do their jobs, not by how busy your team looks.
A direct, calm communicator who handles incidents, frustrated users, and executive escalations with the same steady hand.
Nice to Have
Experience operating in a fast-growing late-stage company where IT had to professionalize quickly.
Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, or other operationally complex businesses.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, Entra ID Governance, or other M365 E5 Security and Compliance capabilities.
Experience integrating IT processes with HRIS platforms (e.g. Rippling) for joiner-mover-leaver automation.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, or ITIL.
Why This Role
This is a hands-on management role with end-to-end ownership of corporate IT at a late-stage company that takes security and compliance seriously. You will report to the Head of Platform, partner closely with security, and have the autonomy to set the standard for how IT runs at UniUni. Your work will be visible to every employee, every day, in whether their tools just work.
