About the role

Job Overview
Our client is a growing UK-based digital marketing agency, forming part of an established group of specialist businesses. They partner with clients across a wide range of industries to deliver high-performing websites that combine exceptional design with outstanding functionality.
They are looking for a talented Web Designer & WordPress Developer to join their expanding team. This is a true end-to-end role where you'll take ownership of projects from the initial client brief through to the final website launch. You'll combine creative design expertise with strong WordPress development skills to build modern, responsive websites that deliver an exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities
Website Design & User Experience
Translate client briefs into engaging, modern website concepts and high-quality visual designs.
Create intuitive UI/UX layouts that align with client objectives and brand identity.
Produce responsive website designs that provide an excellent user experience across all devices.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure designs meet business and marketing objectives.
WordPress Development
Build, customise and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor Pro.
Develop responsive websites with clean, efficient and maintainable code.
Build and manage WooCommerce e-commerce websites.
Implement custom functionality using JetEngine (Crocoblock), Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and dynamic content structures.
Configure Custom Post Types, relationships and dynamic loops.
Website Management & Technical Support
Perform website migrations, hosting management and DNS configuration.
Manage website assets and maintain organised project files.
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing website support.
Ensure websites remain secure, stable and up to date.
Performance Optimisation
Optimise websites for speed, performance and user experience.
Implement caching and website optimisation techniques.
Apply SEO best practices during website development.
Support digital marketing initiatives by ensuring websites are optimised for SEO and PPC performance.
Platform Support
Provide support for Shopify, Wix and Squarespace websites where required.
Assist with ongoing website improvements across multiple content management systems.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to take projects from design concept through to live website delivery.
A minimum of 3 years' professional experience in web design and WordPress development.
Advanced experience using WordPress and Elementor Pro.
Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Experience building WooCommerce websites.
Experience working with JetEngine (Crocoblock) and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
Practical experience managing website hosting environments, DNS settings and site migrations.
Strong understanding of responsive design and UI/UX principles.
Working knowledge of SEO best practices, caching and website performance optimisation.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
Desirable Skills
Experience using Figma.
Adobe XD and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience supporting Shopify, Wix and Squarespace websites.
Basic JavaScript and PHP knowledge.
Experience working within a digital marketing agency.
Familiarity with Google Workspace and Dropbox.
Equipment Requirements
Reliable laptop or desktop computer capable of running professional design and development software.
Stable, high-speed internet connection.
Dedicated home office suitable for remote working.
