About the role

About RYZE:

The Role:
The Role
RYZE is entering national retail, and the gap between a great product getting listed and a great product getting sold is shopper marketing. We can earn distribution. What happens at the shelf and in the digital aisle after that is what this role owns.
The Director of Retail and Shopper Marketing is how RYZE wins on shelf and in the moments right before the purchase. You build the programs that convert awareness into trial, and trial into loyalty. You make RYZE feel like the obvious choice in the aisle, not a new product that requires explanation.
You understand that shopper marketing at an emerging brand is fundamentally different from shopper marketing at a major CPG company. You do not have a hundred-year brand trust story. You do not have massive co-op budgets. You win through sharper strategy, smarter retailer integration, and a brand experience at the point of purchase that actually resonates. This role sits at the intersection of brand, sales, and retail execution. You are the architect of how RYZE shows up at retail: on shelf, in the digital aisle, and in every customer-specific program we build.
What You’ll Do
Shopper Marketing Strategy
You develop the annual shopper marketing strategy and calendar: by channel, by customer, by season. You decide how to allocate trade and shopper dollars to maximize trial, drive repeat, and build loyalty. You set the standard for what good looks like for RYZE at retail, and you enforce it across every touchpoint.
Retailer Media & Digital Shopper Programs
You are fluent in retailer media networks: Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart Ads, and others. You build programs that connect brand investment to in-store execution and deliver measurable ROAS. You do not treat retailer media as a standalone tactic; you wire it to the full shopper journey, from search to shelf.
In-Store Execution & Visual Merchandising
You own the tools that build presence on shelf: displays, POS, shippers, secondary placements, and branded fixtures. You ensure RYZE shows up in-store with the same clarity and conviction it has online. You have a high bar for what the RYZE shelf experience should feel like, and you hold it.
Customer-Specific Programs
You build tailored programs for key retail partners that integrate RYZE's brand priorities with their retailer initiatives. You know how to speak to buyers, work within their planning timelines, and build programs that retailers want, not just tolerate. You understand that the best shopper marketing is a genuine partnership, not a media buy.
Trade Strategy & Budget Management
You manage the shopper marketing budget with discipline. You know the difference between trade spending that builds brand equity and trade spending that only buys temporary velocity. You build measurement frameworks, track ROI across vehicles, and make hard calls about where to invest and where to pull back.
Team & Agency Management
You manage a small but growing team and external agency partners. You set a high standard for execution quality, build a culture of accountability and ownership, and develop the people around you.
What We’re Looking For

You have 8+ years of progressive experience in Shopper Marketing, Retail Marketing, Trade Marketing, or Customer Marketing.

Someone who has developed and executed shopper marketing programs that drove retail growth, strengthened retailer partnerships, and delivered measurable business results.

You have experience creating customer-specific programs, supporting line reviews, and building integrated shopper marketing strategies across retail channels. You know how to translate consumer and shopper insights into programs that drive trial, velocity, and loyalty.

You are comfortable using metrics such as ROAS, velocity, TPR performance, and loyalty data to evaluate performance and make informed recommendations. You use data to identify opportunities, improve programs, and support better business decisions.
