About the role

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

Join our team to bring next-generation RF sensor products from concept to reliable, scalable production. As a Senior Systems Engineer I, you will own the hardware lifecycle for RF-based counter-drone detection systems, working across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and certification. You will also contribute to early technical decisions such as concept definition and component selection.

What You’ll Do

Own the end-to-end lifecycle of RF sensor hardware, from early prototypes through production ramp and sustaining support.

Support early-phase development through concept definition and component selection (RF, compute, power, and interfaces).

Drive manufacturing readiness, including design for manufacturing and testing, pilot builds, production bring-up, and continuous improvement.

Partner closely with production, suppliers/CMs, and quality teams to solve production issues, improve yield, and implement product changes.

Support compliance and certification activities (e.g., RED/FCC), including test planning, lab coordination, technical documentation, and follow-ups.

Lead system-level integration across RF subsystems, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and supporting compute and power elements.

Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to deliver robust, manufacturable systems.

What You Bring

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Experience owning hardware products across the lifecycle, ideally including manufacturing introduction and sustaining engineering.

Solid systems-level understanding of RF products, with hands-on validation and troubleshooting skills.

Experience supporting concept development and making pragmatic component choices for production-ready hardware.

Exposure to regulatory compliance and certification processes (e.g., RED/FCC) is a strong plus.

Strong cross-functional communication skills and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.

Work Location: This role is based out of our Kassel office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.
Don’t meet every single requirement? That's ok. At Axon, we Aim Far. We think big with a long-term view because we want to reinvent the world to be a safer, better place. We are also committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.
