About the Role
BMWL is seeking a freelance Creative Director to support branding and media development across our client roster. This is a flexible, project-based engagement ideal for a seasoned creative who thrives working with campaigns, advocacy groups, and public affairs clients.

What You'll Do

Develop creative concepts and brand identities for client campaigns, from initial strategy through final execution
Manage media development, including digital ads, video, print collateral, and social content
Draft and manage digital ad copy, either writing it directly or overseeing and QC'ing copy produced by others
Partner with our internal production and account teams to ensure the creative aligns with the campaign strategy and messaging
Present creative concepts to partners and clients, incorporating feedback through revision cycles
Maintain brand consistency across multi-platform deliverables
Stay current on political/advocacy creative trends and best practices

What We're Looking For

7+ years of creative direction experience, ideally with political, advocacy, or public affairs clients
Strong portfolio spanning brand identity, digital media, and video/print production
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple client projects simultaneously
Excellent collaborator — able to take direction from partners while bringing a strong creative point of view
Familiarity with fast-paced campaign timelines and quick-turn deliverables a plus

Engagement Details

Freelance/contract basis, flexible hours
Remote-friendly, with availability for occasional check-ins with the BMWL/Axiom team
Rate: $85–$150/hour (or equivalent day/project rate), commensurate with experience. Final rate depends on scope, project complexity, and campaign timelines.
