Our client is a cutting-edge technology firm at the forefront of innovation, actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is critical in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems that power our client's flagship products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps specialists, to deliver exceptional software solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and champion best practices in software development.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using (Specify programming language, e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js). Develop and manage robust APIs and microservices to support application functionality. Integrate with various third-party services and databases. Write high-quality, well-tested code, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards. Contribute to architectural discussions and technology selection. Mentor and guide junior software engineers, fostering their technical growth. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Work closely with product management to understand feature requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development. Strong proficiency in (Specify programming language) and its ecosystem. Extensive experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Proven experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Experience with agile development methodologies.
