About the role

About This Role

You'll join a small, high-impact Product Design team as the design partner for our Out-of-Home domain: the platform that runs and steers GLS Group's network of lockers and parcel shops across Europe. Every designer here owns a domain end-to-end, with the ownership and the access that come with that. Design already works as a strategic partner across GLS/NXT, and this role is here to grow that partnership within Out-of-Home.

You'll design for the operational teams who run the network, across markets, providers and roles. The work spans the Out-of-Home Portal (our operational management surface) and our data intelligence layer, where network performance, forecasting and optimization decisions get made. Expect complexity, ambiguity, and a short line between your decisions and the network's performance.

Tasks

What you'll do

Lead end-to-end design for the Out-of-Home Portal and our data intelligence surfaces, from problem framing through post-launch iteration

Shape product direction, roadmap and prioritization together with the Out-of-Home Product Leadership

Turn complex operational flows and business logic into simple, beautiful experiences: information architecture, interaction design and visual craft

Run discovery and research with operational teams across markets, and use qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral evidence to decide what to build and to measure impact

Use AI to build high-quality prototypes, and validate design decisions with users and engineers before they go to build

Contribute to our multi-platform design system and build components that scale across our products

Present design work and rationale to product, engineering, operations and leadership

Requirements

Requirements

4+ years designing complex software: data-heavy, workflow-driven products for professional users, ideally across multiple markets or user groups

A portfolio that shows how you think: ambiguous problems, the reasoning behind your decisions, and craft in the outcome. We'd like to see how AI shows up in your process

Strong information architecture and systems thinking: you find the patterns in a complex domain and design structures that still hold as it grows

Strong visual craft: composition, typography, layout, and the discipline to make dense interfaces feel calm

Strong research skills: user interviews, field studies, usability testing, and synthesis of insights into actionable design decisions

Track record of close collaboration with engineering teams, comfortable discussing technical tradeoffs and working within platform constraints

Pragmatic and entrepreneurial: you make sensible tradeoffs between craft and shipping, you take things on before they're assigned, and you'd rather learn from something real than perfect something hypothetical

AI and Prototyping in Code

AI-native in how you work: synthesis, exploration, copy, data, generating and testing options, with a clear view of where it helps and where it doesn't

You prototype in code: taking an idea into a prototype with realistic data, using AI-assisted coding tools or front-end frameworks

Interest in how these tools change the way a design team works, and willingness to shape that with us

Benefits

Flexible work conditions: Hybrid working mode with a tailored remote policy

Focus on learning: A personal budget (1.000€) for learning and development initiatives

Physical space for ideas: A great office space in Berlin Mitte with top-tier equipment

Transparent and competitive compensation: A salary package that reflects your expertise and experience.

Active participation: A clear bonus system enabling participation in your and the team’s performance

Engaging team culture: Monthly team cooking, regular events and offsites

Vacation policy: 30 days of yearly holiday

Reward system: Rewards for the recommendation of additional team members

Dynamic workplace: A digital environment with international projects and space to learn and grow

Even if you do not meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply if you believe you are well-suited for the role and can contribute meaningfully to our team.
