About the role

About Tia

Tia is building a new model for women’s healthcare, one that treats women as whole people, not separate conditions or life stages. By integrating primary care, mental health, gynecology, dermatology, and wellness across both in-person and virtual settings, Tia is improving outcomes, lowering costs, and creating a better experience for patients and providers alike.
About the Role
We’re looking for a California-licensed, board-certified Psychiatrist to provide collaborative supervision and clinical consultation to Tia’s Advanced Practice Providers delivering mental health care.
This is a flexible, low-hour W-2 opportunity designed for a psychiatrist who is comfortable supporting experienced APPs who practice with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll provide required physician oversight, serve as a resource for clinical questions and complex cases, and partner with Tia’s clinical leadership team to support safe, high-quality psychiatric care.
This role is primarily supervisory and consultative and does not include a routine patient panel.
Why Tia

Flexible, fully remote work

Small, predictable monthly time commitment

Opportunity to support an experienced interdisciplinary care team

Mission-driven model focused on whole-person women’s healthcare

Established clinical and operational infrastructure

What You’ll Do
APP Supervision & Consultation

Provide collaborative supervision for PMHNPs and other applicable APPs in accordance with California requirements and Tia clinical policies.

Conduct brief, recurring supervision touchpoints with assigned APPs, generally averaging approximately 15–30 minutes per APP per month.

Be reasonably available for additional clinical questions or case consultation when needed.

Provide guidance on complex psychiatric presentations, medication management, diagnostic questions, and appropriate escalation of care.

Review cases or documentation when clinically indicated or required by applicable regulation or Tia policy.

Maintain required supervisory agreements and documentation.

Clinical Quality & Partnership

Partner with Tia clinical leadership to support safe, evidence-based psychiatric care.

Help identify clinical trends, areas of risk, or opportunities for provider education.

Escalate patient safety, quality, or clinical concerns appropriately.

Maintain knowledge of applicable California requirements governing physician collaboration and APP practice.

What You’ll Bring
Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

Board certification in Psychiatry.

Active, unrestricted California physician license.

Active DEA registration.

Experience supervising, collaborating with, or providing clinical consultation to PMHNPs or other APPs.

Strong knowledge of outpatient psychiatric medication management and evidence-based mental health treatment.

Comfort supporting experienced clinicians in a collaborative, high-autonomy practice environment.

Strong clinical judgment and responsive communication.

Preferred

Experience supervising APPs in a virtual or telehealth setting.

Experience in women’s mental health, reproductive psychiatry, or integrated primary care.

Additional active state licenses, particularly New York or Arizona.

Experience working within a multi-state healthcare organization.

Work Location & Schedule
This is a fully remote, part-time W-2 position with a flexible schedule.
The anticipated commitment is brief recurring supervision with each assigned APP, generally approximately 15–30 minutes per APP per month, along with reasonable availability for additional consultation when clinically necessary.
Compensation
Tia is committed to pay equity and pay transparency.
Compensation for this role is $200–$250 per supervised APP per month, based on experience, qualifications, and supervisory scope.
This compensation is intended to cover routine monthly supervision, brief clinical consultation, and responsibilities associated with the supervising physician relationship. Significant clinical work outside of the routine supervisory scope would be addressed separately as appropriate.
