About the role

Forbes Marketplace is looking for a skilled SEM specialist to join the Forbes Marketplace Performance Marketing team with a focus on supporting one of Forbes business vertical. This position will report into a paid search manager. In this role you will be required to set up and manage paid search campaigns. You will also work with our paid search team to create campaigns that will help grow our online presence and conversions.

Responsibilities:

Setting up and optimising paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Bing Ads.

Working with the paid search team to create, refine, and implement campaigns that drive growth and conversions for Forbes Marketplace.

Monitoring campaign performance, analysing key metrics, and optimising strategies for better results.

Ensuring the success of paid search campaigns to increase online visibility and conversions within Forbes' business verticals.

Assisting the Paid Search Manager with data-driven recommendations and insights to improve overall performance.

Conducting competitor research using different tools to identify strengths and weaknesses of competitors, uncover market trends and adapt strategies

Professional Competencies:

A genuine enthusiasm for search marketing and the digital landscape is essential. You should be highly engaged in staying current with trends, tools, and best practices in digital marketing, especially within SEM.

In-depth understanding of PPC strategies, including bidding strategies, keyword targeting, ad copy optimisation, and landing page relevance, is crucial.

Knowledge of how to manage and optimise campaigns to maximize ROI using best practices in PPC management.

A results-driven mindset with a track record of delivering positive outcomes from paid search campaigns.

Comfortable with data analysis to measure the performance of campaigns and identify areas of improvement.

Demonstrating the ability to meet and exceed performance metrics (e.g., CTR, CPC, conversion rates, etc.), directly impacting ROI and revenue growth.

Strong attention to detail to ensure campaigns are accurately set up, monitored, and optimised.

Capacity to handle multiple campaigns and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining quality.

Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other team members and stakeholders, ensuring alignment across marketing efforts.

Self-management skills to prioritize tasks and maintain productivity, even when managing multiple campaigns and projects.

Qualifications:

A minimum of four years of hands-on experience in managing paid search campaigns. This would involve a strong understanding of PPC platforms like Google and Bing Ads as well as a proven ability to optimise campaigns and drive results.

Strong Excel skills are crucial for managing, analysing, and presenting campaign data. This includes the ability to work with large datasets, create pivot tables, perform analysis, and draw actionable insights from performance metrics.

Experience in managing accounts of varying size and complexity, ensuring campaigns are optimised for larger audiences and higher budgets.

The ability to analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, CTR, CPC, and overall ROI. Understanding how digital traffic translates to meaningful outcomes (e.g., conversions or revenue) is critical to optimizing campaigns.

Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as SEMrush, Google Analytics, or similar platforms that allow you to audit, analyse, and refine paid search strategies. This includes using tools to track performance, uncover insights, and make data-driven adjustments.

Proficiency with automated bidding strategies, such as Target CPA, Target ROAS.
