About the role

As a Promo Team Lead, you will manage a team of promo writers, sound engineers, video editors, and dubbing partners to create high-quality promotional ads for Pocket FM audio series.

The role requires strong understanding of promo creation, ad storytelling, localization, dubbing workflows, quality control, team management, and creative optimization. You will oversee fresh promo creation, adaptation of ads from other geographies into Spanish, production quality, timely delivery, and reworks for ads that are not meeting performance benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Creative Direction

Lead and guide promo writers, sound engineers, video editors, and external dubbing partners.

Provide creative direction across writing, dubbing, audio mixing, video editing, and final delivery.

Ensure the team is well-utilized, motivated, and aligned with business and creative goals.

Build a high-ownership culture focused on quality, speed, and performance.

2. Promo Creation & Localization

Oversee the creation of fresh promo ads, trailers, and long-form promotional scripts for audio series.

Adapt successful ads from other geographies into Spanish Portuguese.

Ensure all promos are culturally relevant, emotionally engaging, and suitable for Spanish audiences.

Guide the team on hooks, story setup, emotional beats, cliffhangers, and audience entry points.

3. Production & Quality Control

Own the end-to-end promo production process from brief to final asset delivery.

Quality check every stage, including writing, dubbing, audio mixing, video creation, and final output.

Review scripts, VO/dubbing output, audio edits, video cuts, captions, and final creatives.

Ensure every asset meets Pocket FM’s creative, language, production, and performance standards.

4. Dubbing Agency Management

Identify, evaluate, and onboard dubbing agencies for Spanish Portuguese production.

Coordinate with agencies for script handover, voice casting, recording, revisions, and delivery.

Review dubbing output for pronunciation, emotion, pacing, tone, and character fit.

Track agency timelines, pending deliverables, feedback loops, and final submissions.

5. Performance Reworks & Optimization

Review ads that are not meeting benchmark metrics and identify key creative issues.

Create detailed and actionable rework hypotheses to improve ad performance.

Suggest improvements such as stronger hooks, sharper conflicts, better pacing, improved localization, or revised visuals.

Guide the team in creating alternate openings, new versions, and stronger creative angles.

Apply campaign learnings to improve future promo concepts and execution.

6. Process, Tracking & Reporting

Maintain show-level trackers for all ads being written, adapted, dubbed, edited, reviewed, and delivered.

Track ownership, status, timelines, delays, feedback, and final delivery for each asset.

Share weekly progress reports with the India team and relevant stakeholders.

Create SOPs, checklists, and workflows to avoid leakages across the production process.

7. AI Tool Adoption

Use GenAI tools for ad writing, ideation, VO production, image creation, video creation, and workflow improvement.

Guide the team in using AI tools to improve speed, quality, and efficiency.

Continuously explore new AI tools and workflows for promo production.

Ensure AI-assisted outputs are reviewed for storytelling quality, cultural accuracy, and production readiness.

8. Market & Audience Understanding

Apply strong understanding of Spanish consumer behavior, content consumption habits, and market trends.

Ensure promos feel native, relevant, and compelling for Spanish audiences.

Stay updated on digital ads, audio entertainment, trailer formats, and performance creative trends.

Qualifications

Degree in Filmmaking, Marketing, Advertising, Media, Communications, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in ad creation, promo creation, trailer development, marketing creatives, ad copywriting, or performance creative production.

Strong understanding of marketing, ad storytelling, promo creation, and audience engagement.

Experience leading creative or production teams, including writers, editors, sound engineers, or external vendors.

Excellent command of English and Spanish.

Strong understanding of Spanish consumer behavior, content consumption patterns, and cultural nuances.

Experience working with dubbing agencies, VO artists, production teams, or post-production vendors.

Skilled in GenAI tools for writing, VO production, image creation, video creation, and creative workflow improvement.

Ability to create SOPs, trackers, review systems, and scalable creative processes.

Strong analytical ability to review ad performance and convert insights into actionable creative reworks.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Strategic thinker with strong ownership and business growth orientation.

Understanding of performance marketing on Meta and UAC is a plus.

The ideal candidate is a creative leader who understands storytelling, promo production, and performance-driven advertising. They should be able to lead a multi-functional team, manage dubbing partners, maintain strong quality control, and deliver high-quality promo assets at scale.

They should have strong knowledge of Spanish audiences, excellent creative judgment, hands-on production understanding, and the ability to turn performance feedback into clear creative action.
