About the role

Company at a Glance
OpenX is focused on unleashing the full economic potential of digital media companies. We do this by making digital advertising markets and technologies that are designed to deliver optimal value to publishers and advertisers on every ad served across all screens.

At OpenX, we have built a team that is uniquely experienced in designing and operating high-scale ad marketplaces, and we are constantly on the lookout for thoughtful, creative executors who are as fascinated as we are about finding new ways to apply a blend of market design, technical innovation, operational excellence, and empathetic partner service to the frontiers of digital advertising.

OpenX is looking for a senior, commercially driven Buyer Development leader to establish and grow our demand-side business across DACH.
This is the first dedicated Buyer Development role in-market. The role will be directly responsible for generating revenue across agencies, holdcos, and clients / brands, building senior relationships and commercial foundations required for long-term growth.

The successful candidate will open senior buyer relationships, build and manage pipeline, progress strategic opportunities, and convert demand-side engagement into measurable revenue outcomes.

This is a senior individual contributor role to begin with. As the DACH opportunity matures, the ambition is for this person to help build and potentially lead a broader regional Buyer Development function once clear market proof points have been established.

Key Responsibilities:

Own Revenue Growth

Take direct responsibility for generating and growing buyer-led revenue across agencies, holdcos, and clients / brands in DACH.

Build and manage a qualified pipeline across PMP, curation, SPO, CTV, data-led activation, OpenX Select, premium supply, AI-led solutions, and direct buyer partnerships.

Convert senior relationships into commercial outcomes through consultative selling, strategic account planning, business cases, QBRs, joint business plans, and deal progression.

Maintain strong commercial discipline around pipeline, forecasting, revenue progression, and opportunity prioritisation.

Build the Market

Establish OpenX’s Buyer Development presence in DACH as the first dedicated in-market hire.

Create a clear map of priority buyers, agencies, holdcos, brands, DSPs, data partners, senior decision-makers, trading models, and commercial pathways.

Identify where OpenX can create the most meaningful and scalable impact in the region.

Build the foundations for a future regional team, including account prioritisation, pipeline discipline, market feedback loops, and cross-functional ways of working.

Work Cross-Functionally

Work closely with Sales, Account Management, Product, Marketing, global Buyer Development, DSP Strategic Partnerships, and the Data Partner function to shape, activate, measure, and scale DACH opportunities.

Partner with DSP Strategic Partnerships to improve buyer access, support SPO conversations, and ensure agency and client demand can be activated efficiently through priority DSP routes.

Partner with the Data Partner function to identify relevant data-led opportunities for DACH buyers, including curated marketplaces, audience-led activation, and strategic client solutions.

Build OpenX’s Market Presence

Represent OpenX as a credible senior voice in the DACH programmatic market.

Support OpenX’s visibility through senior meetings, client education, industry events, roundtables, and thought leadership.

Position OpenX around key buyer priorities including transparency, sustainability, premium supply, curation, data quality, supply path optimisation, and a healthier digital advertising ecosystem.

Requirements:

7+ years of experience as a senior commercial individual contributor with deep knowledge of the DACH programmatic advertising ecosystem and a strong network across agencies, holdcos, brands, DSPs, and strategic partners.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of revenue ownership, opening senior relationships, building pipeline, and converting strategic opportunities into commercial outcomes.

They should be credible with senior clients and partners, highly self-motivated, commercially disciplined, and comfortable building a market from an early-stage position.

Fluency in German and English is required.
