Business Development Director (German-speaking)
Full-time (40 hours per week), Hybrid (Berlin, Germany)

About Us
At The Global Talent Co., we provide opportunities to work with leading innovative technology companies worldwide, offering stable employment, competitive compensation, career growth, and access to a community of 25,000+ like-minded marketing professionals.

About the Company
You will be joining an established, founder-led European company specialising in premium custom signage. Its work appears in flagship stores, showrooms, hotels, and offices for well-known brands across retail, luxury, automotive, hospitality, and tech, and clients keep coming back for repeat orders and multi-location rollouts. With the product and reputation already proven, the company is now building a dedicated new business function to match.

The Role
As Business Development Director, you will open doors with enterprise brands across Germany and Europe and turn first conversations into signed signage contracts. This is a true new business role: there is no inherited book of accounts, and you will have real autonomy over your pipeline, relationships, and approach.
You will work with senior marketing, retail, and procurement stakeholders on the client side, then hand signed projects to an experienced internal delivery team, so your time goes into selling. This role is ideal for a structured hunter who knows how to get in front of the right people and hold their ground with procurement.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and win new enterprise brand accounts across Germany and Europe, from first outreach through to signed contract

Build and own relationships with Heads of Brand, Retail Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and senior marketing leaders

Navigate multi-stakeholder buying processes involving marketing, retail operations, and procurement

Scope complex signage projects with clients and brief the internal delivery team clearly from day one

Lead tenders, RFPs, pricing negotiations, and framework agreements

Grow accounts over time through repeat orders, upsell, and multi-location rollouts

Represent the company at selected trade fairs and industry events such as EuroShop, chosen and worked strategically

Ideal Candidate
2–4 years of new business or key account experience selling complex physical projects to enterprise brands

Hands-on procurement experience, including tenders, RFPs, pricing negotiations, and framework agreements

Native-level German and professional English

Based in Berlin or able to work from the Berlin office on a hybrid basis

Genuine hunter mentality: comfortable building pipeline from scratch and getting in front of senior decision-makers

Commercially structured: manages a pipeline with discipline and keeps complex, multi-stakeholder deals moving

Holds firm in commercial negotiations while building relationships that lead to repeat business

Nice to Have
An existing network among brand, retail marketing, or visual merchandising leaders in DACH

A background in signage, brand experience, retail or shopper marketing agencies, POS and visual merchandising, shopfitting, trade fair construction, event agencies with retail or hospitality clients, or large-format production

Experience working trade fairs as a lead generation channel
