About the role

Legal Practice Specialist – Texas (100% Remote)
About the Role
Step out of the billable-hour grind and into a high-impact, strategic executive seat. Our Client—a fast-growing global leader in legal technology—is looking for an experienced Texas litigator or senior law firm operations leader to serve as the definitive practitioner voice for the Texas market.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will sit at the intersection of Product, Sales, Operations, and Marketing. This is a unique career move for a practitioner who has successfully driven technology adoption inside a law firm and now wants to shape the next generation of AI-powered eFiling and litigation workflow tools for the entire Texas market.
Why This Role Is Special

Zero Billable Hours: Channel your legal expertise into driving product vision, go-to-market strategy, and industry education without the stress of time sheets.

Direct Executive Access: Report directly to the COO and serve as a core strategic leader shaping product development alongside engineering and design teams.

Complete Market Ownership: Take full autonomy as the primary practitioner authority for Texas, representing Our Client across state bar associations, CLE programs, and industry conferences.

Top-Tier Compensation & Perks: $150,000 – $180,000 base salary plus bonus—well above market rate for a non-fee-earning legal role—paired with an industry-leading benefits package.

What You Will Be Doing

Map Practice Workflows: Analyze end-to-end Texas litigation workflows from intake through judgment, pinpointing exactly where eFiling, service of process, and AI tools eliminate firm friction.

Peer-to-Peer Advisory & Co-Selling: Partner with Account Executives as a credible peer to managing partners, litigation chairs, and firm leaders to run practice-level discovery and demonstrate clear ROI.

Drive Product Prioritization: Serve as the "voice of the customer" for engineering and product design teams by authoring detailed, evidence-based use cases and product requirements.

Internal Knowledge Base Ownership: Maintain master-level expertise in county-level court rules, local clerk behaviors, and eFileTexas filing nuances across all Texas jurisdictions.

Thought Leadership & Advocacy: Represent Our Client at bar association events, host accredited CLE webinars, and author best-practice guides for legal practitioners.

Key Requirements

Litigation Background: 6+ years of hands-on experience in Texas civil litigation (Juris Doctor and active Texas Bar admission strongly preferred; senior law firm operations leaders with deep litigation experience will also be considered).

Tech Adoption Track Record: Proven experience championing technology or process efficiency projects within a firm setting (e.g., eFiling systems, case management platforms, document automation, or AI tools).

eFileTexas Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of eFileTexas across multiple counties, including clerk review tendencies, rejection causes, and local filing exceptions.

Service of Process Expertise: Direct experience managing service workflows, process server engagements, diligence documentation, and motions for substituted service.

Executive Presence: High level of credibility and comfort speaking peer-to-peer with managing partners and legal administrators about firm economics, practice management, and tech integration.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 per year (commensurate with experience) + performance bonus.

Healthcare: 85% employer-paid medical coverage premiums.

Retirement: 401(k) retirement plan with an immediate vesting employer match.

Work-Life Balance: ~20 days of paid time off (PTO), 11 company-paid holidays, and up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave.

Remote Setup: Fully remote working environment backed by a monthly remote-work stipend.
