About the role

About Avantpage

At Avantpage, we help immigrant and Limited English Proficient (LEP) communities access the healthcare and public services they need, in their own language. We’re a multicultural team spread across the Americas and Europe, and we live by three values: empathy, innovation, and rigor.
The role
As a DTP Specialist, you’ll make sure every translated document we deliver looks as good as the original and works just as well. You’ll format, recreate, and prepare files across many languages and formats. You’ll work closely with our Operations, Proofing, and Quality teams to deliver accurate, on-time, client-ready files.
What you’ll do

Format and recreate translated documents in InDesign, Word, and other tools, following Avantpage quality standards and client guidelines.

Prepare and pre-process files for translation, and finalize them after translation.

Deliver every assignment on time, with careful attention to detail.

Give the Operations team time estimates and answer their DTP questions.

Apply feedback from the Team Lead, proofers, and project teams.

Help improve our DTP workflows, and support training for newer team members.

What you’ll bring
Must-have

Advanced, hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign.

Strong skills in MS Word for complex formatting and document recreation.

Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator.

2+ years of DTP experience, ideally in localization or translation.

Intermediate English or higher, enough to follow detailed instructions and communicate in writing with the team.

Close attention to detail and the ability to manage several deadlines at once.

Availability to work PST

Nice-to-have

Experience with non-Latin and right-to-left scripts (for example Arabic, Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese).

Experience creating accessible PDFs (Section 508 / PDF/UA).

Familiarity with CAT tools and preparing files for translation (IDML, Trados, memoQ, Phrase).

A degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.

What we offer

A remote role with a purpose-driven company.

A multicultural team across the Americas, Europe, and beyond.

Training in new tools, technologies, and processes.

Room to grow in the localization industry.
