About the role

The Opportunity
AI is changing the economics of legal practice. Work that once took hours can increasingly be done in minutes, creating both enormous leverage for lawyers and new pressure to win and serve more clients efficiently.
Yet solo practitioners and small law firms still operate with many of the same constraints: missed calls, slow follow-up, intake handled between client matters, inconsistent marketing, and administrative work competing with billable time. Building larger intake, administrative, and marketing teams is expensive and increasingly unnecessary.
BloomLex is building a different model: a managed AI workforce that helps small law firms grow without growing their team.
The customer thesis has been validated through live pilots, and multiple deployments are moving into production evaluation. The next phase is proving in-production reliability, delivery economics, repeatability, and scalability. The companies that successfully deploy trusted AI workers into professional-service verticals over the next 18 months have an opportunity to define entirely new categories. We intend to be one of them.
The Venture
BloomLex is building an AI workforce for solo practitioners and small law firms, helping them win and serve more clients without adding headcount.
We call the broader shift the Rise of the Solo: AI gives an individual lawyer or small firm access to capabilities that historically required a much larger organization.
Unlike self-serve software, BloomLex is fully managed. We configure, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve the AI workforce for each firm. Our customers evaluate us on outcomes — calls answered, prospective clients captured, consultations booked, demand generated, follow-up completed, and time saved — not on how much software they configure themselves.
Our AI workforce starts with two teammates:
Ava — AI Front Desk. Ava answers calls 24/7, handles structured intake, screens and routes inquiries, books consultations, performs outbound callbacks and follow-up, and integrates those interactions into the firm's workflow.
Claire — AI Marketing Assistant. Claire helps firms generate and nurture demand through content, digital marketing, campaign management and optimization, lead nurturing, and ongoing marketing execution.
Together, Ava and Claire address both sides of growth: Claire helps create demand; Ava helps ensure that demand is captured and converted.
They are also the beginning, not the end, of the platform. Our roadmap expands the AI workforce across the operational side of the practice — including custom workflows and additional specialized AI roles — all delivered through the same managed model and coordinated around the lawyer.
The Partnership
The CEO co-founder is in place. The customer thesis is validated, design partners are engaged, live pilots are running, and the technology and deployment infrastructure are being built for scale.
What remains is to complete the founding team with a commercial co-founder — someone who will own revenue and go-to-market with the same conviction, urgency, and sense of ownership as the CEO and CTO.
This is not a role where you inherit a sales team, a mature playbook, and a predictable funnel. You will help discover and build those things.
You will personally close early customers, determine which channels scale, refine the commercial model from real market evidence, and then build the organization capable of repeating it.
This is a co-founder and leadership role, not simply a sales hire. You will join the CEO and CTO as one of three co-founders, with founder-level equity, founder-level responsibility, and a meaningful voice in go-to-market, pricing, hiring, fundraising, product direction, and company strategy.
What you'll own
As Co-Founder & CRO, you will own the commercial journey from first conversation through acquisition, retention, and expansion.

Early Revenue — Personally convert pilots and prospects into paying customers and establish the first repeatable sales motion across solo practitioners and firms of up to five lawyers.

Go-to-Market — Refine and operationalize our ICP, positioning, messaging, and Rise of the Solo narrative, turning them into outreach, demos, pipeline, and closed revenue.

Pipeline & Channels — Determine which acquisition channels actually work — outbound, content, paid acquisition, referrals, partnerships, communities, events, and others — and concentrate resources behind the ones that can scale.

Partnerships & Distribution — Build relationships with legal business coaches, bar associations, legal communities, consultants, complementary technology providers, and other potential distribution partners.

Pricing & Commercial Economics — Own pricing, packaging, expansion strategy, customer acquisition economics, retention targets, and the path toward increasing revenue per firm as the AI workforce expands.

Customer Success & Retention — Stay close to early customers, understand why they buy and why they stay, and build the commercial processes that turn adoption into retention, expansion, referrals, and advocacy.

Customer Proof — Turn early wins into measurable case studies, testimonials, references, and commercial proof around the outcomes lawyers care about.

Fundraising — Help tell the growth story to investors through credible traction, metrics, unit economics, forecasts, and a clear path to scale.

Team — Once the motion is working, recruit and lead the sales, partnerships, and customer-success organization needed to scale it.

Co-Founder Profile
We're looking for a builder first and a sales executive second.
You are likely someone who has spent enough time inside an established company to know how a professional revenue organization works — but would rather build one than inherit one.
You should bring:

A strong record of full-cycle selling, ideally into the legal market or another fragmented SMB/professional-services vertical.

The confidence to personally prospect, run demos, negotiate, close, onboard, and expand early customers before hiring people to do it for you.

A strong understanding of how small-business buyers make decisions, what creates trust, and how to turn an early-stage product into a compelling commercial proposition.

Ideally, an existing network within legal technology, solo and small-firm legal communities, bar associations, legal services, or adjacent channels.

Strong commercial judgment — including the willingness to challenge assumptions about positioning, pricing, channels, or markets when the evidence says we should.

Entrepreneurial drive: you are ready to move from selling someone else's company to building one of your own.

Comfort with an early-stage compensation model weighted heavily toward ownership and revenue creation rather than a conventional executive salary.

The ability to operate as a principal, not an employee — making decisions with the long-term value of the company in mind and doing whatever work is necessary at this stage to move it forward.

Early-stage go-to-market leadership, experience selling AI or automation products, and experience selling into the legal profession are strongly preferred. Candidates should be able to operate effectively across North American time zones.
