About the role

About Us

Indie Campers is the leading campervan marketplace, on a mission to make road trips accessible to everyone. With a fully digital booking experience and a customer-first approach, we have welcomed more than 300,000 travellers from 170 countries and delivered over one million nights on the road. We offer short-term RV rentals, long-term campervan subscriptions, and the option to buy one of our vehicles.

We are a fast-growing, technology-driven company, and our challenges are both exciting and demanding. We are looking for top talent to help build the future of road travel.

The Role

As Regional Operations Director, you lead local operations across a group of countries. Each depot has Operations Supervisors on the floor; clusters of depots are led by Operations Managers; the Operations Managers report to you. You report to the EMEA Operations Vice President.

You will own results on fleet availability and quality, Customer satisfaction and public profile, operational efficiency and profitability, ensuring high service standards and consistent execution of the central procedures and SOPs defined for our operating model.

You will sit on the regional management team alongside peers from Revenue & Growth, People and Finance, and you will be accountable for your region's operational targets and for the operational cost of the service delivered to our customers.

What You Will Work On

Leadership and performance

Lead, coach and develop the regional team and the Depot Leaders across your locations

Oversee day-to-day regional operations and drive the region's results on fleet availability, customer satisfaction and profitability

Monitor KPIs daily, follow up on action plans and implement improvements

Ensure operating standards and SOPs are followed consistently across all depots

Safety, legal compliance and audit readiness at every site, under several sets of national law.

Customer first

Customer satisfaction and recurring issues across every country in your district, with corrective plans that actually close

P&L and cost ownership

Own the regional P&L from an operational standpoint, including budgeting and cost control

Identify and deploy efficiency initiatives

Keep resources aligned with activity levels, expanding and contracting cost structure based on seasonality

Manage relationships with international suppliers serving the region

Collaboration and growth

Work closely with Central Ops, Revenue & Growth, Finance, People & Talent Acquisition, and so that processes are well defined and adapted to your region

Lead, coordinate and deliver projects related to operational expansion in the region

Travel frequently to support depot teams (up to 75% of the time)

Who We Are Looking For

Must have

Degree in Engineering, Business Management or a similar field (higher education)

10 years or more of operational leadership in mobility, logistics, hospitality, rental or multi-site management, including several years running operations in more than one country.

You have run a profit and loss account of meaningful size and are comfortable owning a commercial result rather than contributing to one.

You manage through managers who themselves manage managers. Your effectiveness depends on your Operations Managers being good, not on you being everywhere.

You can diagnose across a portfolio and across borders, telling apart a problem with one depot, one manager, one country, or the way we operate.

You have worked inside more than one employment-law regime and know where local practice genuinely constrains a standard and where it is being used as an excuse.

You make sound people decisions at Supervisor and Manager level in reasonable time, and build a pipeline rather than filling vacancies.

You handle capital decisions with finance, and can flex a cost base seasonally across several labour markets without letting service or safety slip.

You get results through functions that do not report to you. In this structure that is not a nice-to-have: fleet, revenue, customer experience, people and finance all hold things you need and none of them are yours.

You treat safety and compliance as yours, at the same standard at your smallest depot as at your largest.

You protect the integrity of what gets reported, and would rather receive a bad number that is true than a good one that is not.

You are steady in a crisis and willing to be in the field: every country monthly, a frontline shift monthly, present when it matters.

Strong Excel or Sheets. Fluent English and at least one other language used in your district. Full driving licence, category B. Free to travel across your countries without restriction.

Nice to have

Multi-country general management in rental, logistics, hospitality or retail, rather than single-market experience repeated.

A strongly seasonal business, or one where the asset is the product.

Experience of a structure where the functions you depend on report elsewhere.

Opening new markets, integrating an acquisition, or setting up a new operating model rather than inheriting a settled one.

A third language used in your region

The Indie Commitment

A fast-growing, dynamic environment where you make a real impact

Career growth in Field Operations, with potential moves to Lisbon, Mexico City or Manila

Continuous training and coaching

Free road trips across Europe, North America and Oceania
