encoord is a small and growing software company that helps energy stakeholders plan for the future. encoord develops and commercializes software for integrated planning across electric generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as electric and gas infrastructure. encoord’s flagship integrated planning software SAInt is designed for workflows that require iteration across two or more of the following modeling domains: power system capacity expansion optimization, power system production cost optimization, balanced AC power flow of transmission networks, contingency analysis, unbalanced AC power flow simulations of distribution networks, and gas hydraulic simulations of gas transmission and distribution networks.
With offices in the United States and Germany, our team of twenty employees serves electric and gas utilities, system and market operators, and asset developers worldwide.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on IT & Security Operations Lead to take ownership of our internal IT infrastructure, cloud environment, and cybersecurity. You will work closely with our CIO and IT Operations Specialist to build secure, reliable, and scalable operations across our German and US offices. This is a senior technical role without people-management responsibility.
What you’ll do
Administer and secure Microsoft 365 E5, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, and Azure services.
Manage networks, firewalls, VPNs, Windows servers, endpoints, backups, and disaster recovery.
Drive vulnerability management, patching, security monitoring, and incident response.
Implement security policies and maintain ISO 27001-related technical controls and compliance evidence.
Improve IT processes through automation and coordinate with external service providers.
About you
At least five years of hands-on experience in Microsoft-based enterprise IT and security.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Azure, networking, and Windows Server.
Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, backup and recovery, and technical security controls.
Independent, solution-oriented approach with excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Fluent English; ISO 27001, GRC platform experience, or Microsoft certifications are an advantage.
Valid right to work in Germany or be eligible to obtain the necessary residence permit authorizing employment.
