Mission statement
We are seeking a Senior Rust Engineer with deep trading systems experience and strong AWS knowledge to join our core Capital Markets division. Candidates with a passion for the Rust ecosystem and a proven track record designing, building, and operating mission-critical trading systems will be at a significant advantage.
As part of the engineering team in Capital Markets, you will take ownership of high-impact trading infrastructure, set technical direction in your domain, and drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and operability. You will join a highly-profitable, fast-paced division within Keyrock, where you will be expected to make a senior individual-contributor impact while collaborating with a global, fully-remote team. This role is open to candidates located in European time zones.
Job description
Design, develop, and optimise low-latency, mission-critical trading systems

Own key trading stack components end-to-end — from architecture through to production operation

Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver solutions that improve trading performance and resilience

Maintain and evolve trading infrastructure with a focus on performance, stability, observability, and operational excellence

Troubleshoot complex production issues across exchange connectivity, execution, and market data handling

Drive engineering standards through technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring

Embrace agentic engineering principles: leverage AI-assisted workflows, drive automation of operational tasks, and help evolve the team's agentic tooling

Contribute to functional, component, and production-readiness testing for critical trading components

Background and experience
Technical Skills
Production-grade Rust experience building high-performance, concurrent systems; proficiency with Tokio is a strong advantage

Hands-on experience in a systematic trading environment (HFT, Market Making, Quantitative Trading, or similar), with solid understanding of execution, market data, and operational risk

Strong AWS and Linux expertise, including cloud infrastructure trade-offs for latency-sensitive workloads, shell scripting, debugging, and production troubleshooting

Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for strategy development, automation, and operational tooling

Deep familiarity with trading system protocols (FIX, REST, WebSocket), exchange connectivity, and market data feeds

Solid grasp of low-latency networking: TCP/UDP, packet and latency path analysis, dedicated network infrastructure, and kernel bypass techniques (DPDK)

Familiarity with agentic engineering tools and concepts: LLMs, MCP APIs,AI-First IDEs (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code), harness engineering, and workflow automation

Ability to make sound architectural decisions, articulate trade-offs clearly, and guide implementation across complex systems
