About the role

At GALVANY, our goal is to make climate-neutral living a reality for everyone. We focus on execution – developing concrete, smart solutions and making heat pumps, battery storage, and smart metering easy to access, reliable, and affordable. GALVANY-Tech drives the energy transition through software. We're building an AI-based Operating System for sales, planning, installation and operation of heat pumps and integrated energy systems – from single-family homes to multi-unit buildings, and across our Energy Community as a Virtual Power Plant.
We are a profitable green-tech startup and believe that sustainable impact and long-term growth are only possible when grounded in a healthy business model. To implement our ambitious tech roadmap, we secured €10 million in seed funding from Set Ventures and AENU in the spring 2026. Driven by customer value, clarity, and responsibility, we stand for high-quality heating solutions and an environment where people take responsibility and drive lasting impact.

The Role
As a (Senior) Product Designer - Mobile at GALVANY, you'll focus on the mobile experience of our customer apps (Sales, Installation, Homeowner). You'll craft polished, intuitive interfaces that make complex energy data feel simple or chaotic installation processes feel clear. Visual craft is your core strength, but you bridge it with deep user empathy.

Responsibilities
Design aesthetic, mobile-first interfaces. Create pixel-perfect UI across native and responsive mobile experiences – from navigation patterns and gesture interactions to micro-animations and transitions.

Own the visual language. Develop and evolve GALVANY's visual design system: typography, color, iconography, spacing, and component libraries that scale across mobile and web.

Turn complexity into clarity. Translate dense energy data, device statuses, and multi-step workflows into intuitive visual hierarchies and interaction models – especially for small screens.

Run targeted user research. Conduct usability tests, field studies with installers, and remote testing sessions to validate mobile flows and visual design decisions with real users.

Collaborate cross-functionally. Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations throughout the design process – from early concepts to shipped pixels.

Advocate for craft and the user. Champion visual quality and user-centered thinking in all product decisions and trade-off discussions.

Requirements
Experience. 5+ years shipping digital products with a strong emphasis on mobile design (iOS/Android, responsive web, or hybrid). Portfolio demonstrates outstanding visual craft alongside solid UX thinking.

Visual Design Mastery. Exceptional eye for typography, layout, color, and motion design. You sweat the details - spacing, alignment, and interaction polish matter to you.

Mobile Expertise. Deep understanding of mobile design patterns, platform conventions (iOS HIG, Material Design), touch interaction and the constraints of designing for small screens and variable connectivity.

Track Record. Proven end-to-end responsibility - from early concepts to shipped product.

Technical Skills. Proficiency with Figma (including prototyping and component architecture). Experience building or contributing to design with AI is a strong plus.

Technical Aptitude. Passion for understanding systems, data flows and integrations. The energy domain comes with much complexity.

Language. Fluent in English (C1) and German (C1).

Skills and Qualities That Are Important to Us
Craft-Obsessed. You care deeply about visual quality. You know when to push for polish vs. ship fast.

Mobile-Native Thinker. You intuitively understand how context, screen size and on-the-go usage shape the experience.

Systems Thinker. You see how your components, patterns and visual decisions connect to the wider product ecosystem - ensuring a cohesive, scalable whole.

Research-Driven. You validate assumptions through usability tests and direct user exposure. You let evidence guide design decisions. You pro-actively approach stakeholders.

Pragmatic. You choose the simplest effective path to solve problems - optimally by leveraging AI tools.

Benefits
Strong Growth & High Impact. A unique opportunity to join during a hypergrowth phase and actively shape the mobile experience millions of homeowners will use.

Compensation. Competitive salary and flexible perks (sports, mobility, learning) tailored to your needs.

Real-World Impact. Your work drives decarbonization – measurable in CO₂ savings, energy efficiency (kWh), and cost reductions (€).

Office. Prime location in Berlin Charlottenburg, regular company events and all-hands. We value in-person collaboration and connection, while partial remote work remains an option.

No Corporate Theater. Skip endless alignment meetings, politics and waiting for permission. You talk to the people who matter and ship.
