About the role

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We are also developing different types of propulsion systems to power our future vehicles and missions. As a talented Heat Exchanger Development Engineering Intern, you will work on test bench design and operation for fluidic components.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks:
In your capacity as a Heat Exchanger Development Engineering Intern, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:
Design of a test bench for fluidic components
Concept creation and trade-offs

P&ID (piping and instrumentation diagram)

CAD design

Component choice and procurement

DAQ (data acquisition system) support

Commission of the bench

Operation of the bench

Data post-processing and interpretation

Documentation and onboarding of the team

What we would love to see from you:
Finished Bachelor's degree or extensive progress in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field

Experience with CAD Software (Siemens NX, CATIA, or similar) including assemblies

Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics (including compressible flow)

Experience in test bench design and operation

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Excellent communication skills and autonomy

Proficiency in English is a must, German is an asset
