About the role

About Munich Electrification
Munich Electrification is an innovative company founded with the aim of accelerating the transition to electric and connected mobility. We develop innovative electronic control units for electric vehicles and stationary storage systems for our global customers. Our international team is composed of highly motivated and exceptional engineers. As a small and specialized team we are well-aware of the importance of each individual colleague and support and promote each employee according to their abilities and needs. Our office with adjacent prototype and testing lab is located in the heart of Munich at the Heimeranplatz.
This is what we stand for:
- Technological Leadership: We challenge norms, innovate quickly, and anticipate future needs. We take smart risks and learn from outcomes to stay ahead.
- Sustainability: We actively drive change for a sustainable future, aware of our impact and inspiring others to build a better world.
- Team Culture: We believe work should be enjoyable, fostering a spirit of inspiration, celebration, and teamwork across the globe.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: We embrace change, think big, and push limits with passion.

About the Role
As the Head of Program Management, you will own the execution of our project portfolio from first concept to series production across Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, and Industrial BESS. That means leading teams of Project Leads, Product Owners, and Field Application Engineers, and reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer. You are an entrepreneurial leader who thrives on turning complex development roadmaps into tangible, high-quality products while balancing the unique demands of both vehicle-level and grid-scale energy storage safety and performance.

Your Future Tasks at a glance
Operational Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end execution of all projects, ensuring they meet milestones, budget constraints, and resource allocations. Identify cross-project synergies and manage dependencies to mitigate systemic risks.

Team Mentorship: Lead Team Leads and senior contributors to foster professional and technical growth.

Strategic Staffing: Optimize organizational structure and resource allocation across programs to balance capacity, driving throughput and profitability.

Department Alignment: Act as the primary interface for C-level management, aligning departmental goals with the overall company strategy and reporting on KPIs.

Governance & Process Design: Define and continuously optimize department processes and interfaces to other departments (Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Quality).

Conflict & Escalation Management: Serve as the ultimate internal escalation point for critical project roadblocks, and make the call.

Commercial & Technical Stewardship: Ensure that both commercial governance (contracts, deliveries) and technical maturity (e.g. V-cycle, ASPICE) stay on track across all programs.

Who you are and what you have
Experience: 8+ years of leadership in Program or Project Management, specifically in automotive, battery, or power electronics. You have successfully led a "team of teams."

Education: A university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field that combines technical understanding with commercial acumen.

The "Advocacy" Trait: You are comfortable pushing back. When cross-functional goals conflict, you can mediate and make firm decisions, acting as a buffer for your team rather than just escalating or deferring.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams (interacting with HW, SW, Systems, Operations) and manage leaders (Team Leads).

Communication: Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust with international Tier-1 or OEM customers and navigate C-level stakeholders.

What We Offer
Impact: A key leadership role (~30 direct or indirect reports) with the autonomy to shape the future of our program management organization.

Culture: A flat hierarchy that values direct, honest communication and fast decision-making over process for process’s sake.

Growth: Be at the forefront of the green energy transition, in a high-tech, international, fast-growing company.

Flexibility: Modern working conditions with a focus on results.

Our Offer & Benefits
The chance to be part of a highly innovative, agile, and unique team with prestigious customers in the automotive and battery storage sector. You will gain a deeper knowledge around connected & electric vehicle batteries, battery management and electronics development and strive in an exciting work environment
Benefits (Full-time Employees):
- Trust-based working hours and hybrid work
