About the role

Summary

Join our digital marketing agency as an Ads & SEO Manager to oversee paid advertising campaigns and organic search performance for multiple clients. This role requires full ownership of campaigns and SEO strategy, managing them independently while collaborating with our marketing team to achieve measurable ROI and search visibility gains. The position is remote with flexible hours and potential for full-time growth.

Deliverables

Campaign Management

Plan, launch, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and other relevant platforms

Take full ownership of campaign performance and results from strategy through execution

Manage multiple client ad accounts simultaneously with varying budgets and objectives

Conduct keyword research, audience targeting, and competitive analysis

Design and execute comprehensive A/B testing strategies for ad copy, creatives, landing pages, and audiences to continuously improve performance

Implement unit testing methodologies to validate campaign components before launch

Monitor campaign performance daily and make data-driven optimizations

Manage ad budgets efficiently to maximize ROI for clients

SEO & SERP Management

Own on-page, technical, and off-page SEO strategy for multiple client websites

Conduct keyword research and mapping to identify high-value organic opportunities, aligning with paid search targeting where relevant

Monitor SERP rankings, visibility, and share-of-voice across target keywords, and track fluctuations tied to algorithm updates

Perform technical SEO audits (site speed, crawlability, indexation, schema markup, mobile usability, Core Web Vitals) and coordinate fixes with dev/design teams

Optimize on-page elements (title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, content structure) to improve rankings and CTR

Analyze competitor SERP positioning and identify content gaps and link-building opportunities

Develop and guide content briefs that support target keyword rankings, coordinating with content and design teams

Track local SEO performance (Google Business Profile, citations, reviews) for local service clients

Monitor and report on organic traffic, rankings, impressions, and CTR trends alongside paid metrics for a unified acquisition view

Stay current on Google algorithm updates, search engine guidelines, and evolving SERP features (featured snippets, AI Overviews, local packs, etc.)

Media Creation & Strategy

Assist with media creation including ad copy writing, creative briefs, and basic graphic design coordination

Proactively research and recommend new media opportunities and platforms to expand client reach

Lead discussions with clients and team about emerging advertising and search channels and innovative campaign approaches

Develop advertising and SEO strategies aligned with client business goals

Stay current on platform updates, best practices, and industry trends

Identify opportunities for campaign expansion and improvement across both paid and organic channels

Recommend budget adjustments based on performance data

Collaborate with content and design teams on ad creative and SEO content needs

Reporting & Communication

Create clear, actionable monthly performance reports for clients covering both paid and organic search performance

Provide strategic recommendations based on campaign and SEO data and market insights

Communicate campaign and SERP performance, insights, and recommendations to account managers

Participate in client calls when needed to discuss strategy and results

Track and report on key metrics: CPA, ROAS, CTR, conversion rates, organic rankings, organic traffic, and keyword visibility

Available during 9am-5pm Central Time at least 4-6 hours presence for team collaboration

Required Qualifications

5+ years managing paid advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads required)

2+ years of hands-on SEO experience, including technical, on-page, and content-driven SEO

Proven track record of managing $10K+ monthly ad budgets

Demonstrated experience improving organic search rankings and visibility for multiple websites

Demonstrated experience with A/B testing methodologies and statistical significance analysis

Experience assisting with or directing media creation for digital campaigns

Experience working in an agency environment managing multiple client accounts

Google Ads certification (required)

Meta Blueprint certification (preferred)

Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console

Proficiency with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or similar for keyword research, rank tracking, and audits

Ability to take full ownership of accounts with minimal supervision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Experience with reporting tools (Google Data Studio, Looker Studio, or similar)

Nice-to-Have Skills

LinkedIn Ads experience

Microsoft Ads (Bing) experience

Experience with landing page optimization and CRO

Experience with unit testing frameworks for digital marketing campaigns

Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite basics)

Familiarity with CRM systems (particularly lead tracking and attribution)

E-commerce advertising and SEO experience (Shopify, WooCommerce)

Local service business advertising and local SEO experience

Experience with link-building outreach and digital PR

Familiarity with structured data / schema markup implementation

Experience with JIRA or project management tools

What We're Looking For

Someone who can hit the ground running, take full ownership of client advertising campaigns and SEO strategy, and free up our team to focus on strategic growth initiatives. You should be comfortable working independently across both paid and organic search channels while keeping stakeholders informed of progress and results. We need someone who thinks like an owner - proactively identifying opportunities across paid and organic search, recommending new approaches, and driving results without constant oversight.
