About the role

Join the battery cell data revolution⚡

Location: Chemnitz (onsite preferred, hybrid possible) ·
Position: Full-time ·
Start: As soon as possible
Who We Are 🌍
Limatica measures what batteries whisper. We turn the tiny voltage noise of battery cells into a quality verdict, far faster than conventional tests, and help cell manufacturers cut scrap.
We are a team of twelve in Chemnitz and Munich, spanning data, ML, HPC, hardware and industrialization. Early adopters across Europe and Asia already use our technology. In 2026 we move from pilots to production lines, and our data grows faster than our team.
What You'll Do 🔧
Our measurement stations produce several hundred GB of high-resolution voltage data per hour. You own the step from raw signal to reliable answer.
• Work with novel cell noise data: Derive features from raw time series that make physical sense that hold up in production
• Build for streaming: Design feature computations that work in streaming mode, at a throughput of up to 10,000 measurements per hour.
• Make throughput a design decision: Build modular, parameterizable nodes for our distributed processing pipeline and help bring them into our Rust-based production environment.
• Ship modules, not scripts: Automate evaluations end to end, from raw data to reports for our engineering team and our customers.
• Own customer projects technically: Assess requirements, communicate interim results and findings, and turn feedback into improvements.
What You Bring 🕵️
• Measurement experience: A degree in electrical engineering (or comparable) and 3+ years with real-world measurement data. Sampling, noise, filtering and artifacts you know from practice, not just lectures.
• Physical intuition: You can explain why a feature makes sense, and you prefer a simple, well-understood method over a model nobody can explain.
• Data at scale: You think in throughput: data formats, intermediate results, distributed and cached processing.
• Clean engineering: Python, Git, tests and CI/CD as a matter of course. No Rust expertise needed, but the will to learn it.
• Customer confidence: Fluent German and English, written and spoken. You explain results clearly to engineers and managers alike.
Why Limatica 🚀
• Real ownership: Your own part of the pipeline and your first customer project within months. As we grow, this role can grow into technical lead.
• Learn what few get to learn: Electrochemistry, Rust in production and data engineering at scale, with real cells and international manufacturers.
• Share the upside: Salary package including virtual stock options.
• Invest in yourself: Additional holiday for personal learning
• Flexibility & wellbeing: Flexible hours, hybrid work, further benefits via Guud Card and free beverages
What it's like here: You get a lot of trust and a lot of room to shape things. We look for people who stay with a problem until it's solved and who enjoy the moments when a customer launch needs the whole team. Those are the moments where people here grow fastest. This role is intentionally a towards-senior position. You will take on increasing responsibility for pipeline modules and customer projects. Those who help shape the architecture and lead projects independently grow into a senior role with us.
Apply ✉️
Apply via the Link with your CV and with a few lines on the trickiest measurement artifact you've ever hunted down. That tells us more than any cover letter. Code samples or a GitHub link are welcome, not required.
