About the role

About Planet A
Planet A is a leading early-stage European tech VC backing founders tackling the world’s greatest systemic challenges. We take a scientific approach to identify breakthrough solutions the world can’t afford to ignore across energy, resource mastery, neo-manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. Investments include Aris Machina, Staer, INERATEC, Gigaton and Makersite.
Employment: Full-time internship (40 hours/week)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote within the EU (Preference to Berlin, London, Munich, Zurich and Stockholm)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Tasks
You’ll work directly with one of our Partners on the most important thing a VC does: finding exceptional founders before everyone else does. This is a hands-on sourcing seat, not a back-office position.
Find exceptional founders early. Identify promising founders, spinouts and research teams through LinkedIn, GitHub, scientific papers, patents, university labs and relevant communities.

Build a sourcing engine. Develop and run your own sourcing playbooks, using AI and automation to identify promising opportunities at a scale that manual research cannot match.

Screen inbound deal flow. Quickly assess incoming opportunities and flag the most promising cases to the investment team.

Maintain our CRM. Keep our CRM accurate and up to date, ensuring leads, interactions and relationships are properly tracked.

Build tools, not just workflows. Work with our Data / Engineering team to turn successful sourcing approaches into repeatable tools and systems.

Requirements
Highly analytical. You form clear views from data, evidence and first principles.

AI-native. You actively use AI tools and agents, experiment with new approaches and constantly look for ways to automate work.

A builder's mindset. You take ownership, work independently and focus on outcomes rather than waiting for instructions.

Ambitious and persistent. You pursue promising leads, follow up and keep going when the first attempt doesn't work.

Technically minded. A background in engineering, computer science or the natural sciences is a strong plus.

A strong communicator. You write clearly, communicate confidently and are fluent in English. Additional languages are a plus.

Benefits
Direct access to the Partners. Work closely with a Partner, with your findings going directly to the investment team and contributing to real investment decisions.

Real ownership. Build and run your own sourcing initiatives rather than simply supporting someone else's work.

A small, flat team. Work closely with colleagues in a collaborative environment.

Flexibility to work remotely within the EU time zone, with access to our Berlin hub in Mitte.

Regular team time. Join monthly co-working days with the whole team.

Planet A is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and encourages people of all ethnic & racial origins, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions & ideologies, socio-economic statuses, educational backgrounds, ages, and individuals of all abilities to apply.
