About the role

Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP S/4HANA/ABAP Developer (Brownfield/Greenfield) to support a critical modernization initiative for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This role is instrumental in delivering a stable, scalable, and well-documented SAP S/4HANA Customer Management (CM) solution as part of the agency’s transition from SAP CRM. The ideal candidate will bring S/4HANA experience, specifically within Brownfield migrations, custom development, and complex middleware integrations connecting SAP with BizTalk.
What You Will Do:
S/4HANA Development & Migration
Lead Brownfield technical development efforts to transition custom SAP CRM code to SAP S/4HANA Customer Management (CM).
Code Remediation: Optimize legacy code for compatibility and performance within the S/4HANA environment, conducting thorough impact analysis and testing.
Migration Strategy: Execute technical workstreams for SAP Brownfield conversions, ensuring system stability during the transition from legacy environments.
Advanced Integration & Middleware
Architect Interfaces: Design and develop robust integrations using EDI (IDocs) for asynchronous data exchange.
Modern Connectivity: Implement and manage integrations using SOAP and REST web services.
Middleware Management: Lead integration activities specifically connecting SAP with BizTalk to ensure seamless data flow across the agency’s landscape.
Fiori Enablement
Deploy Applications: Enable and deploy SAP Fiori applications to modernize the user experience.
Configuration: Design and configure Fiori Spaces, Pages, and Catalogs while collaborating with Security teams for role-based access control.
Governance & Best Practices
Apply best practices in Change Management, Release Management, and Configuration Management within a structured federal framework.
Ensure thorough technical documentation to mitigate migration risk and support long-term sustainability
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, OR High School diploma with 9 years of relevant experience.
S/4HANA Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of direct S/4HANA experience.
Migration Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on SAP Brownfield migration experience.
Integration Stack: Proven working experience with EDI (IDocs), integrations with SOAP and REST, and specific experience connecting SAP with BizTalk.
Solid understanding of both Greenfield and Brownfield development strategies.
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Must be able to obtain/maintain the required agency clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supporting the CDC or other Federal Government programs.
Active CDC Clearance.
Experience working in highly regulated public-sector environments.
Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.EEO
