The opportunity
We are searching for a Staff / Senior Software Engineer to join our Search team. The role entails contributing to the product & technical domains of excellence in the main API product that enables large retailers to seamlessly purchase tickets from bus & rail carriers worldwide. The team enables a booking system that includes booking orchestration, invoicing, ticketing, and more.

What you will do:
Drive the strategic architectural transition of our core Search Engine from Elixir to Go as the pioneer Go engineer.

Design foundational infrastructure for high-throughput microservices to ensure smooth interoperability between the new Go architecture and legacy systems.

Own the technical backlog and success metrics while coordinating cross-functional work to strictly align with long-term business objectives.

Resolve technical bottlenecks and guide teams to build solutions that maximize business value and justify migration decisions.

Lead company-wide technology adoption and agile engineering processes while maintaining highly effective documentation.

Systematically elevate the team's technical capabilities by upskilling your peers in Go best practices.

We are a remote-first company with teams located around the Globe and a HQ in Berlin.
Who you are:
You bring 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in Golang.

You ideally have some knowledge of Ruby or Python to effectively navigate our legacy ecosystem and drive the transition.

You have deep architectural mastery of high-throughput distributed systems, microservices, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and GCP.

You can seamlessly translate complex technical decisions into business metrics to identify and resolve growth hurdles.

You excel at cross-functional leadership, synchronizing technologies and ensuring total transparency between developers, partners, and stakeholders.

You champion an agile mindset, test-driven development, and robust CI/CD pipelines to maximize efficiency during technical transitions.

You are deeply passionate about continuous self-development and actively mentoring others.

You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
