Job Title : Assistant Manager - Regulatory Reporting
Department : CAD – Corporate Affairs
Direct Supervisor - Senior Manager Regulatory Reporting
Job Purpose
Own the accurate preparation, review and timely submission of assigned regulatory returns for Mashreq UAE, including Islamic banking and subsidiary reporting, in accordance with CBUAE, SCA and applicable internal requirements.
Calculate, validate and explain key prudential measures, including Basel' Capital & Liquidity Ratios and Pillar III disclosures, with clear reconciliation to underlying finance and risk data.
Operate as a first-line controller for assigned returns by maintaining strong checks, documentation, audit trails and issue-resolution discipline, while supporting regulatory queries and reporting change implementation.
Key Result Areas
Prepare, review and submit assigned regulatory returns across all prescribed frequencies, including portal upload, approvals and retention of submission evidence.
Calculate and validate prudential metrics through movement analysis, reasonability checks and reconciliation to the general ledger, source systems and management information.
Coordinate inputs across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Operations, Islamic Banking and subsidiaries; challenge anomalies and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
Execute maker-checker controls and maintain complete documentation for mappings, assumptions, adjustments, reconciliations and approvals.
Monitor CBUAE and SCA requirements and coordinate updates to templates, validations, mappings, SOPs, checklists and reporting calendars.
Support regulatory, management and audit queries; remediate data-quality issues and control gaps; and drive automation, UAT and process improvements with Technology and data teams.

Operate within approved policies, SOPs, data-governance standards, internal controls and delegated authorities while meeting strict regulatory deadlines.
Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and manage priorities through timely escalation, handover and business-continuity arrangements.
Coordinate internal, external and regulatory audit requirements, including evidence provision, query resolution and closure of observations.
Guide junior resources through work allocation, technical review and knowledge sharing, ensuring continuity of critical deliverables.
Problem Solving
Apply regulatory knowledge and professional judgement to investigate reporting anomalies, reconciliation breaks, data gaps and interpretation matters.
Determine root causes, recommend corrective actions and communicate complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Prioritize issues according to regulatory deadlines, materiality and risk, and escalate matters that may affect accuracy, completeness or timeliness.
Decision Making Authority & Responsibility
Accountable for the accurate preparation, first-level review and timely submission of assigned returns within the approved maker-checker and delegated-approval framework.
Recommend corrections and control enhancements within assigned authority, ensuring significant adjustments or interpretations receive management approval.
Coordinate stakeholders to resolve reporting issues and implement approved regulatory or process changes.
Manage concurrent deliverables with disciplined planning, prioritization and escalation.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent is preferred, with typically 7+ years of relevant banking experience.
Working knowledge of CBUAE requirements, Basel capital concepts, IFRS, banking products, general-ledger structures and regulatory-reporting controls.
Advanced Excel capability for large-data analysis and reconciliations; exposure to regulatory-reporting, data-visualization or automation tools is advantageous.
